The Kek Lok Si Temple is a Buddhist temple within the city of George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at Ayer Itam, it is the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia and an important pilgrimage centre for Buddhists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore and other parts of Southeast Asia.

1. Visa Requirements

Visa-Free Entry: Malaysia offers visa-free entry for citizens of many countries. Depending on your nationality, you may be allowed to stay in Malaysia, including Penang, for a period ranging from 14 to 90 days without a visa.

Countries with 90 Days Visa-Free: USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, most EU countries, Japan, and South Korea.

Countries with 30 Days Visa-Free: India, China, Russia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and others.

Countries with 14 Days Visa-Free: Iran, Libya, and others.

Visa on Arrival (VOA): Malaysia offers a Visa on Arrival for certain nationalities, primarily for travelers entering from Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, or via a connecting flight. The VOA is valid for 7 days and costs around RM 200. However, this is not widely available and is only applicable under specific conditions.
